A thangka is a special type of Tibetan painting which is typically utilized to aid in meditative practice. Tibetan imagery featured in the paintings offer as a guide for a person’s visualization while meditating in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Thangkas are thought of as sacred representations and are often placed in Tibetan homes or monasteries on a shrine.
Manjushri is an important figure in Mahayana Buddhism, especially the Prajnaparamita sutras and the Avatamsaka Sutra. He is attributed with bringing insight that leads to Enlightenment. In Mahayana Buddhism, he is the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, while in Vajrayana he is a fully enlightened Buddha. He is one of the three great Bodhisattvas.
